Echoes of Venice
Cornetts and sackbuts conjure up the definitive sound of 16th and 17th century Venice, when The Floating City – rich, powerful, beautiful and home to some of the finest musicians Europe has ever produced – still reigned supreme in the Adriatic. This introduction to a lost world brings to life music that echoed around St Marks, entertained nobility in sumptuous palaces on the Grand Canal, or was performed in the winding streets and open squares of this most captivating of cities.
